An automatic voltage regulator can correct sustained or repeating voltage variation within its designed input range and response capability. Very short transients, complete interruptions, harmonics and unsafe wiring are different problems and may require additional protection or repair.

Usually not. An SPD targets transient overvoltage, while an AVR regulates eligible ongoing voltage variation. They perform different functions and can be used together when correctly coordinated.

Motor starting current can create a temporary voltage sag, particularly on a weak supply or an undersized circuit. The motor, wiring and stabilizer capacity must be reviewed together.

It can when total demand, motor starting current, required output accuracy and circuit arrangement are all compatible. Otherwise, separate solutions may be better.
