Voltage stabilizer for motors, pumps and compressors
Refrigerators, freezers, pumps, washing machines and air conditioners can draw much more current while starting than during normal operation. Correct stabilizer sizing must accommodate startup behavior as well as the running load.

Why the load changes during starting
Higher initial current
Direct-start motors and compressors can demand a current multiple above normal running current.
Voltage sag
High startup current interacting with supply and wiring impedance may reduce voltage at the load.
Reduced torque
Low voltage can reduce available motor torque, extend starting time and increase thermal stress.
Do not rely on appliance type alone.

Loose or undersized wiring
Repair connections and conductor problems before adding regulation equipment.
Mechanical or motor fault
A seized compressor, worn motor or faulty capacitor requires equipment service.
Supply capacity problem
Repeated deep sags may require circuit, transformer or utility investigation.
Useful questions before purchase
A rule-of-thumb multiplier can be misleading. Starting current varies by motor, load, starting method and voltage condition. Use equipment data whenever possible.
A delay can allow pressure to equalize and prevent rapid restart after power returns. Use the appliance manufacturer’s requirements.
Not necessarily. Humming can involve low voltage, a starting component, mechanical load, winding damage or other faults. Diagnose the equipment and supply first.
